Sculptra Aesthetic

This is the new FDA approved anti-aging filler.  Noticeable results can last up to 2 years.

Facial creases form with the loss of volume from skin, fat and muscle.  Wrinkles appear from sun damage and muscle movements and loss of collagen.  At age 30 more collagen is broken down than what is produced.

How does it work?

Sculptra works gradually to replace collagen lost in the aging process. Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, or PLLA. Your collagen builds around this slowly.  You should have continual gradual improvement.

Is it safe?

Sculptra is biocompatible to the body.  It has been used many years in dissolvable stitches and medical implants.  It has been used in Europe cosmetically since 1999.

What areas respond best to treatment?

Sculptra works well in replacing lost collagen in the cheeks.  It can also be used in the folds that run from the nose to the chin (parentheses).  Replacing lost volume result in dramatic improvement in your looks.

What are treatments like?

The product is placed deep under your skin. You can apply an anesthetic topical cream for comfort.  Additionally, we add lidocaine to the Sculptra for comfort.

How long does it last?

After three to four treatments 6 weeks apart, you can expect the results to be noticable up to two years.

How will I look after my treatment?

You can perform normal activities with minimal discomfort.  There may be some redness, swelling or bruising.  Bruising is worsened by some medications and herbs. You can apply makeup and perform normal activities.
